About.

We are Joel & Julie, parents of a rowdy toddler boy with brand new boy/girl twins.

We live outside of Chicago, IL.

Joel runs a compounding pharmacy with his family (http://www.thecompounder.com) and Julie works for a utility company as a buying manager.

We live our lives to watch our kids grow up. We enjoy sappy and ridiculously contrived reality television, food, music, movies, books, laughter, sleep and the occasional thunderstorm.

If you are considering birthing twins, stock up on diapers, wipes, formula and sleep before they plop in. If you have any questions for us, fire away. We can’t be sure our answers will help, but we’ll give it a shot.

Love,

dad

You are nutzo fool. Good luck to both of you though. You know I haven’t seen you since before you even had one. :)

    Joel,

My wife just found out we are expecting twin boys in March. We already have 3 girls and have been quite taken back by the sudden turn of events. Blessings for sure. You site has had me in stitches since I found it…Good luck on your journey and congrats…

  • THANKS to the both of you! Sean, whenever you’re out this way, stop by for a mead.
    ALVIN! Congrats dude! WOW!
So I take it you guys have a fleet of conversion vans? I’m always curious about the nuts and bolts of having so many kids and five seems like an awesome way to football team any restaurant, family gathering or grocery store!
Good luck to you and I hope to communicate with you as we both learn how to handle the many handles we’ll be needing to handle.
    Handles,

  • Deena:

I would love to know exactly what I should register for as these are my first babies. I am not sure of when to buy two of something or when to get a double of something.

  • Our first step in finding out what we needed was to see what others had to get rid of before putting anything onto any sort of wish list. I guess having your first kid is a hell of a lot different than your next litter, but there are so many things that you don’t need brand spankin’ new and so many things that are perfectly fine as handmedowns.
We didn’t have a baby shower for the twins and got a lot of handmedowns from aunts and uncles and friends.
Things we can’t do without are:
Two pack and plays. (One upstairs by our bed and one downstairs near the kitchen.)
    Two boppy pillows.
    Two crib inclines.
    Two cribs, of course.
Two car seats and four bases.
The double tandem stroller is the frickin beesknees when it’s just you trying to get two babies in and out of anywhere.

Bottles. Diapers. Wipes. Formula. We started stocking up on these at like 15 weeks, so our stockpiles will probably run dry here in a few days hahaha.

    good luck Deena!

Just found your blog. Hilarious. We had an 18 month old daughters when we had our twin boys. I’ll read more before I say more. They are 3 yrs old and 18 months now, and I don’t remember a thing. It’s still hard as hell but pretty great.
