The Internet. Hell Yeah Vol VIII

I dragged my feet on signing up for a HTN Twitter account. I seeeeriously dragged my feet. I don’t really have an excuse, but I’m now spending the majority of my time before bed finding other people to call upon once the twinvasion happens. And “holy macadamia nut farmers” there are a ton of people out there on twitter who talk about twins.

I’m not talking about the people who talk about celebrities and their twins, who are automatically better than your twins or mine, I’m talking about real frickin’ people twinttering! TWINTTERING! ZING!

One such example is today’s Hell Yeah Internet discovery: http://www.dadsguidetotwins.com/

I found the site through a tweet mentioning twins and I’ve scoured this guys pages. One such page that is just BALLS ON exactly what I needed is: http://www.dadsguidetotwins.com/how-to-measure-the-mounds-of-twin-advice/

This is a guide to sifting through all of the advice people throw at you about having twins. It might not be NEW information, but it’s concise, and I NEED CONCISE RIGHT NOW PEOPLES!

When we got home from the hospital that cool night in June, I was all over the internet looking for sites on families having twins and the step by step process of dealing with the news, incubating the lil’ ones and then having them successfully and being calm twin parents – I didn’t find any between the hours of midnight and 3 am. Now I’m finding them all over the place!

One of the coolest sites that I’ve seen on just what I was looking for is AndrewsKids.com. You can see the week by week progression and ultrasound pictures as well as see exactly what these parents are going through on their way to being the parents of twins.

Very cool. Very relaxed. Very informative.

Go visit: AndrewsKids.com

*GONG*

So I’m an internet ninja. I can simultaneously find you a better bit rate on an obscure old funk album from the 70’s, upload last night’s performace video (I like to play), get my wife a recipe for sweet & sour chicken and research about having twins at the same time.

Not only can I do all of that at once, but I manage to update this damn blog pretty frequently to remind myself of what I’m digging through the internet to find. Even if some of this stuff doesn’t interest everyone, it’s like my internet scrap book in that I can post it, and then go back to it whenever I need it without having to remember where I saved the bookmark.

SO – Today i was reading about how insane life is going to get in regards to feeding and diaper changes. I’ve read that organization between parents is not always communicated with grunts and whistles, and that a good excel spreadsheet to document poops and bottles is one way to make sure Twin A isnt eating twice and Twin B is pissed you’ve been ignoring him/her.

I started looking for a pdf or something that I could just print out rather than having to mess with that godforsaken program, AND I FOUND ONE!

Talk-about-Twins.com has one right on their homepage. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE PDF.

AND! As it turns out, the lady who writes @ Talk-about-Twins.com wrote a book!

MAN I love people who do it all. And I found one that does, Christina Tinglof.

As we continue on our road to new websites to visit when entertaining the thought or actually carrying the weight of having twins, let us explore some other sites together, shall we?

Our first website comes through maybe 7 clicks in from the Multiples Site at About.com – this one is called Mother of Twins.com.

Granted, I am male and do not particularly care for the fashion items on display, but I’m sure if I was hiding a 37lb frozen turkey under my mumu I’d want some clothes to sport around the doctor’s office too!

ZING!

The last site I found that peaked my interest was GREAT DAD. Something I’m trying to keep on top of every day is being a great dad, and DAMNIT why didn’t I think to use this site before my lil dude was born?

Go visit GreatDad.com and check out their amazing way of organizing worthwhile articles on the basis of where your wife is in the pregnancy as well as by the age of your children.

Two cool sites. One cool dude. (THAT’S ME!)
